Classic M&M’s Cookies

M&M’s Cookies are such a wonderful classic! These easy cookies are soft and chewy on the inside with crispy edges, and dotted with colorful candies in the middle! Serve warm with a glass of milk for instant happiness!

While I love the traditional rainbow M&M’s for these cookies, you can try some other varieties for special occasions. The pastel M&M’s are fun for Easter, the red and green for Christmas, and maybe switch to Reese’s Pieces for Halloween!

Hope you get a chance to try these! For a gluten-free version, simply sub in your favorite gluten-free flour blend, cup for cup. Classic M&M’s Cookies

Ingredients

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (or a gluten-free flour blend)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

1 1/2 cup M&M’s

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars for 1-2 minutes. Scrape down sides of the bowl, add vanilla and eggs, and beat again to combine.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix just until combined. The dough will be thick and sticky. Add 3/4 cup M&M’s and fold to combine.
  5. Scoop out tablespoon-size balls of dough and place on parchment-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart, with no more than 9 cookies per sheet. Gently press 5-6 additional M&M’s on top of each cookie (do not flatten the cookies). Bake for 9-10 minutes. Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cookie drying rack to cool completely.
