Baked Feta Pasta

Have you tried Baked Feta Pasta? It went viral on TikTok a few months ago and apparently there were major feta shortages as a result! Now, thankfully, stores are restocked, so it’s a great time to give this dish a try!

What’s so great about Baked Feta Pasta is its simplicity. With just a handful of ingredients and a few simple steps, anyone in can whip this up for a quick weeknight dinner! For something heartier, try adding shredded chicken, sliced sausage or whole shrimp. Or, simply serve it as a side dish alongside your protein of choice.

The feta cheese gives this pasta a distinct tangy flavor. I like to balance that out with a generous helping of grated Parmesan cheese. The fresh herbs add a pop of color and extra flavor, but dried herbs are just fine in a pinch. Hope you get to try this one! Baked Feta Pasta

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • 8 ounces feta cheese block
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to tate
  • 2 Tablespoons minced garlic
  • Small handful fresh basil, parsley and oregano leaves, chopped
  • 10 ounces cavatappi (corkscrew shaped) pasta, cooked

 

For garnish: fresh basil leaves, parmesan cheese

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place tomatoes in a 2.5-quart oven-proof baking dish. Fit the block of feta in the middle of the dish, so the cheese is surrounded by tomatoes. Generously drizzle cheese and tomatoes with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Bake for 25 minutes. Carefully remove baking dish from oven, add minced garlic and bake for 10 minutes more.
  3. Stir warm feta together with tomatoes, garlic and olive oil to create a cheesy tomato sauce. Add pasta, chopped basil and parsley to sauce and toss to combine. Garnish with parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Serve warm.
