Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

Do you have an air fryer yet?! I’m on my second … and currently in LOVE. My first air fryer was the Cosori Air Fryer that I got on Amazon. It has over 26,000 positive reviews, so I really wanted to love it … but ended up having a variety of problems with it, so the Cosori spent a lot of time in storage.

Then a few weeks ago I got a Kitchen & Table Air Fryer from H-E-B as part of an ongoing partnership (where I create recipes using their products). And honestly, after the Corsori fail, I did not expect the H-E-B air fryer to be any different. But it is! And I’m hooked!

The H-E-B air fryer is so easy to use and clean, and the results are consistently good. So far, we’ve made multiple batches of hard-boiled eggs, perfectly crispy bacon, marinated chicken tenders, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and all kinds of roasted veggies (broccoli, potatoes, mushrooms). They’ve all been delicious! Especially these Teriyaki Chicken Tenders, which we’ve made at least six times 🙂

If Teriyaki is too sweet for your taste, we also enjoyed this recipe using a savory Kung Pao Marinade. So far we’ve only used store-bought marinades (there are so many good ones!), but I’m looking forward to creating some simple homemade sauces, too. Stay tuned!

P.S. Although the creation of this recipe was sponsored by H-E-B, this post and my review of their air fryer are not. Only honest reviews here, always.

Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Tenders

Ingredients

1 lb. chicken tenders

1 cup store-bought Teriyaki Sauce & Marinade

For sauce:

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

1-2 Tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce

2 teaspoons lime juice

2 teaspoons brown sugar

For garnish: sesame seeds, salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Place chicken tenders in a leak-proof storage container. Pour Teriyaki sauce over the chicken, seal container and refrigerate for 20- 30 minutes, or for more flavor, overnight.
  2. To make the peanut sauce, in a small bowl, mix together all ingredients with a fork. (Sauce will be thick.) Whisk in 1-3 Tablespoons water, until desired consistency is reached.
  3. When ready to cook the tenders, place marinated chicken tenders in the basket of the air fryer. Set air fryer to 350 degrees F and cook for 12 minutes, turning once half-way through. Use tongs to move tenders to a serving platter with peanut sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Serve with steamed broccoli or white or brown rice.
