We can’t wait for you to try these Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Scones! Most recipes for scones involve cutting butter into dry ingredients, similar to how you make a pie dough, which can be a bit tedious. I wanted something simpler.
Enter heavy cream. With heavy cream you get the same richness as butter, but a lot less hassle. Instead of working the butter in with your fingers, you simply stir in the cream with a spoon!
We love to cook these scones in our Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer. Do you have an air fryer yet? If not, I highly recommend this one! It is high quality, powerful, and surprisingly quiet! I use it multiple times a week for all kinds of food, including veggies, appetizers, chicken, burgers, meatballs, crab cakes, and of course these air fryer apple cinnamon scones.

I wasn’t able to print your Apple Scone recipe. I tried getting to it through You Tube and when that didn’t work I went directly to your web site. Couldn’t print it from there either. Don’t know if problem is your site or me, but thought I would let you know anyway.
Hi Mary! Thanks for letting me know and I apologize for the inconvenience! I’ve added the printable recipe to the website and a link to it in the YouTube description box. Sometimes I’m a little delayed getting everything posted … can’t afford an assistant yet so I do it all myself right now, but maybe someday I will have some help 🙂 Thank you for your patience and more importantly, thanks for watching! Please let me know if you find any other issues and I will get them corrected as soon as I can. Big hugs, Marie
This is a model of how to demonstrate a recipe that delivers on the promise of simple, quick and yummy. I made scones the traditional way for guests this weekend, then watched this process from you and can’t wait to try it. I love the use of heavy cream instead of cutting in the butter. I’ll try this method next. I also wonder about using full-fat cultured sour cream, which is available in 20% fat here in Eastern Europe. I’ll try both! Thanks again.
Hi! Thanks so much for the note! Do let me know how you like this method! The full fat sour cream sounds incredible! I can’t wait to hear how that version turns out. I love the extra tangy flavor from sour cream or buttermilk in baked goods … such as nice way to complement the sweetness. Hugs, Marie
Oh YES!! These were so delicious and easy to make. Light, flaky, tender and slightly sweet. They baked up perfectly (4 extra minutes) in my Ninja (101C) which is on the smaller side, with a round basket. They just fit, and after about 10 minutes I used a spatula to re-separate them from each other so the sides would brown. I can’t wait to try variations as you suggested in your Video… savoury anyone?! The second time I made the recipe I added 1 Tbs (14 grams) of melted butter to the cream mixture along with the vanilla – yum! I had a piping bag of a cream cheese frosting in the freezer which found its home drizzled across the tops as well. Thank you so much for posting this recipe and relaxing video! I always have high hopes for scone recipes and this is the first one that, truly, did not disappoint.
Hi Debbie! Wonderful to hear!! I’m so thrilled to hear you enjoyed these and appreciate your tips for extra time for your smaller air fryer, spatula to re-separate while cooking, and the addition of melted butter for a little extra love! I’ll have to try the butter next time I make them! And yes to the savory version! Cheddar and bacon is on my list! Stay tuned, Marie
